Chief Legal Counsel
Lenore Horton serves as the primary legal counsel to CNS Global Advisors. As an experienced entrepreneur in her own right, an angel investor, educator, and serial expat, she brings a unique perspective to her considerable legal acumen. She holds a J.D. from Howard University School of Law, Merit Scholar, and served on the Howard Law Journal. She also holds an LL.M. magna cum laude, in International Law and Justice from the Leitner Center, Fordham University School of Law.
After graduating from Howard University School of Law in 2004, Ms. Horton began her legal career in New York City as an associate at White & Case LLP, where her practice focused on representing public companies and financial institutions against common law fraud claims, civil RICO claims, state and federal securities claims, and in internal investigations. She then moved to the New York office of Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, where her clientele focused on hedge funds, private equity firms, private clients, and privately held companies, whom she also represented as both subjects and victims in criminal and regulatory investigations on the federal and state level, and in a variety of state and federal litigation arising from commercial and investment disputes, including claims of fraud, securities class actions, and derivative actions.
Steeped in academia, she has also published on issues involving human rights and international humanitarian law, and has lectured at universities worldwide on the intersection of business and human rights. As someone who is "on a mission to demonstrate that legal services are more than just a cost center," she is frequently invited to speak at conferences and judge startup pitch competitions.
